The upcoming game Assassin's Creed Shadows drew the ire of the internet upon release of the initial batch of promo materials - namely concerns about the historical accuracy casting the black samurai "Yasuke" as a lead. Some have accused the move by Ubisoft as culturally appropriating samurai culture for DEI points.
As a Black man, yes I have an opinion, but on this matter I care enough about my Asian brothers to sit down and listen to what they have to say... what they think is Yasuke's place in history.
